I've been looking at the writing style in the codex, just scanned the pages quickly not concentrating hard on it and have noticed jumping out at least three quite different styles appear in the flow and look of the writing, it is almost as if it was written by a different hand.
An example is the two pages that have the French text included in the art, the writing is very different from say the pages including the road warrior and other tribe people. Have a look see what you think.

Re: Inconsistent writing styles
Sun, June 17, 2007 - 2:22 PMYes, I've noticed this also. The writing from the following two pages from Chapter 2 also appears similar to the writing from the French text page, and different from the majority text in the book:

This discrepancy was pointed out to me before, and it made me begin to lose hope that the writing system is a consistent planned-out system that could be deciphered. It does beg the question of why the writing is different for these specific pages - perhaps they are earlier/later versions of the writing, before Serafini had fully developed his script, that were included by the publishers despite being in a different style. -

Mon, June 18, 2007 - 12:52 AMNever give up hope Tad, youve put a lot of good work into this,
Looking carefully at the styles, they look written by the same hand.
Do you think its possible thet the differences in style could be pointing to differences in the language used for translation. -

Re: Inconsistent writing styles
Mon, June 18, 2007 - 7:50 AMi don't think you guys get it. i think that serafini actually meant to give us examples of not one, but several
different languages.
just like we get not one, but several different cities/ civilizations, and not one, but several different sentient species.
you can see this as a problem, or you can realize whats going on and hope that there is some chance of decoding
by using this to your favor.

Re: Inconsistent writing styles
Mon, June 18, 2007 - 8:36 AMThe truth is the only person that gets it is Luigi Serafini and he's not letting on, so we have to make do.
Your points are very good and probably right on the button, but I think would be better received without the cage rattling me thinks -
